ART HOUSE

Sheira Design was called in to this Mosman home on Sydney’s North initially to advise on outdoor umbrellas, two weeks later, the scope was expanded to the entire home. The owner felt after discussions with Sheira, that the home did not reflect his eccentric and colourful personality. Sheira was engaged to bring colour, personality and theatrics into this modern architectural home.

The brief was to completely revamp every wall, surface and piece of furniture as no idea was too wild. Textured wall papers, decorative lighting, rugs, sofas, dining tables and chairs were all added with one layer of colour leading to the next. Art was a major factor in the design of this home. The client was a joy to work with, open and enthusiastic to as many exciting and adventurous combinations as we could imagine.

We worked closely with the team at Space Furniture where a large proportion of the furniture was purchased, to combine interesting combinations of pieces and colours. The client entertains a lot and every corner of the home is used day and night. Visitors now view the home as an art gallery as now the entire passage the ground floor has been converted into a gallery with art filling every wall.

It truly lives up to its name as Art House.
